Joseph Raymond Dowd Jr.

Joseph Raymond Dowd, Jr., 81, of Springfield, passed away on Tuesday, February 27, 2024, at Baystate Medical Center. Joseph was born in Springfield on July 4, 1942, the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Skiba) Dowd. Joseph was a devout parishioner of St. Michael’s Cathedral in Springfield. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by two sons Peter Dowd and Joseph Dowd. He is survived by his devoted daughter Kimberly Mash and her husband James of Suwanee, GA., a loving sister Kathleen Long of Springfield and his two cherished grandchildren Ryan Mash and his wife Meg and Jessica Dupee and her husband Jack and he leaves a great-granddaughter Layla Mash. A Calling hour will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 from 9:30am-10:30a.m. in St. Michaels Cathedral, 260 State Street, Springfield. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10:30a.m. Burial will be private.
