Alan Gordon Livingstone, 75, of Springfield, passed away on April 17, 2024, at the East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Home (SNF). He was born in Springfield on November 10, 1948, the son of the late Gordon and Irene Livingstone. Alan proudly served our country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Alan attended Northampton Commercial College and Springfield Technical Community College with a career in drafting & tool design as a mechanical engineer. Alan was an active member in Parents without Partners (PWP) for many years where he enjoyed community camping trips, playing in a volleyball league and volleyball tournaments with the Easter Seals. Alans loved watching and collecting movies where he had a large, indexed library of movies. He also enjoyed early computer gaming, graphic artistry and listening to music on his big stereo. Alan is survived by his two devoted children Jayson Livingstone and his wife Gail of Thompson, CT., and Tiffany Melendez and her husband Rogeer of Douglas, MA., two brothers David Livingstone and his wife Linda of Ludlow, MA, and John Livingstone and his wife Michelle of Tampa, FL and he leaves three cherished grandchildren Naishalie, Roger and Charlie Alan Melendez. Alan is also survived by his very lovely life partner Virginia Divenuto whom he has been with for many decades and her children and grandchildren. A Funeral Home Service will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024, at 10A.M. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, Ma, 01118. Burial and Military honors will follow in the Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2024, from 2-4p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Alan’s memory to the Easter Seals of Massachusetts.
