Carolyne Hope (Barowsky) Cariani, 95, of West Springfield passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Wingate of South Hadley. Born in Holyoke,Ma on December 15, 1921 she was a daughter of the late Frank and Karoline (Peters) Barowsky. Carolyne was predeceased by her husband, Joseph C Cariani and 2 daughters, Janice Mize and Suzanne Becker. Carolyne enjoyed shopping and loved lighthouses, butterflies, penguins, and seahorses, but most of all, she dearly loved her family. Carolyne leaves her son, Joseph F Cariani and his wife Mickey of White Bluff, TN; her daughters, Carolyne Lucas of East Longmeadow, Deborah Stelzer of West Springfield, and Vicki Sullivan and her husband Robert of Wilbraham; brothers, Frederick Barowsky of Indian Orchard, Arthur Barowsky of Lincoln, NE, and Charles Barowsky of Southwick; sister, Faye Simthies of Westfield; 20 grandchildren; 35 great grandchildren; and 21 great-great grandchildren and many nieces  and nephews, and beloved friends. Funeral services for Carolyne will be held on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 8:45am at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield followed by a 10am service at Trinity Lutheran Church, 400 Wilbraham Rd, Springfield. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Westfield. Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 27th from 4-7pm at the funeral home. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
