Diane E. Metayer, 58, of Springfield and formerly of Cape Cod, passed away on Monday, April 10, 2017 at Wingate of Wilbraham nursing home from pancreatic cancer.  Diane was born in Springfield, on January 1, 1959, the daughter of Judith (Lindner) Caccioli of Centerville, MA, and Laurent (Larry) Methe of Westfield MA. She was a graduate of Somers High School, received her Associate’s degree from Bay Path College and her Bachelor’s degree from the University of New Hampshire.  Diane worked in advertising sales for various publications including Advertising Sales Director for the Cape Cod Times.  She earned her Addiction Counselor Certification on June 10, 2015 from Westfield State University and was thrilled to be hired by Gosnold on Cape Cod as a Full Time Counselor. Diane loved volunteering at many organizations.  She was an avid reader, loved crafts, making jewelry, knitting, gardening, clamming, and skiing, but most of all she treasured time spent with family and friends. Diane was a dear friend of Bill W. for many years, and had many friends who will miss her dearly. In addition to her parents, she is also survived by her daughter Cherie Smith and her fiancé Greg McClure of Kittery, ME, her step-mother Elizabeth Methe of Westfield, MA., two brothers Michael Metayer of Farmington, CT, Eric Methe of Westfield, MA and two sisters Michelle Methe and her Husband Ken LaChapelle of Uxbridge, MA, and Cheri Ribbe and her husband Christopher of Westborough, MA. Please join us for a Celebration of Diane’s Life on Saturday, April 29, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Wyben Union Church, 678 Montgomery Road, Westfield, MA 01085.  We will all appreciate hearing about and sharing your times with Diane.
