Eleanor G. (Sullivan) Mezzetti, 94, a lifelong resident of Springfield passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by her devoted children. Eleanor was born on October 29, 1922, the daughter of the late James and Irene (Derusha) Sullivan. Eleanor worked for American Bosch, Storrowton Tavern and Kresge’s Five and Dime. She led a good life full of cherished moments with her loving family and she will be missed by many. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her former husband Gaetano Mezzetti, a brother James Sullivan and three sisters Lorraine Mac Arthur, Claire Daniele and June Bonomo. She is survived by her four children Gaeann Moore and her husband John of Wilbraham, Darlene Welz and her husband William of Wilbraham, Tammy Gouvin and her husband Alan of Springfield and Ty Mezzetti and Sherry of East Longmeadow, and 10 adored grandchildren Alison, Brendan, Ryan, Colin, Ashlee, Karisa, Jason, Brian, Breanne and Makenna and 13 great-grandchildren. She also leaves two sisters Barbara Iellamo of Charleston, R.I., and Doris Giannini of Springfield. She also leaves her cat Baby. All service and burial will be private.
