Florence (Hawley) Lyons, 86, of Springfield, passed away early Wednesday evening, June 7, 2017 in the comfort of her home, surrounded by her loving family at her side. Born to the late Myron and Eileen Hawley, she was educated in Springfield and was a graduate of the High School of Commerce. Florence loved to sew and enjoyed roller skating, playing the organ and decorating. First and foremost, Florence’s greatest treasure was her loving family. She will be forever remembered and greatly missed by all. Florence was predeceased by her devoted husband, Robert A. Lyons, Sr. and her sons, George, Daniel, Paul, and Hal Lyons; her sisters, Shirley Frangie, Beverly Dziobek, and Nancy Gop; and her brother, Charles Hawley. She is survived by her sons, Robert Lyons Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Springfield, Michael Lyons and his wife Lisa of Hampden, Guy Lyons and his wife Heather of South Hadley; her daughter with who she made her home, Eileen Lyons and her partner Omer Levesque of Springfield;  a daughter-in-law, Patricia Lyons of Lakeland, FL; fourteen grandchildren, Robert Lyons III and his wife Shannon, Christy Duford and her husband Jay, William King III, Jeremy King and his partner Jill, Alexander King, Christopher Lyons and his wife Erina, Rebecca Lyons and her fiancé Ben, Danielle Patrick and her husband Walter, Caitlyn Allen and her husband James, Stephanie Lyons and her partner Kris, Heather Lyons and her partner William, Justin Lyons, and twins Cody and Connor Lyons; seventeen great grandchildren; her brother, Kenneth Hawley and his wife Barbara, her sister-in-law, Patsy Broer and her husband Hank; her brothers-in-law, Joseph Frangie and John Gop; her sister-in-law, Kitty Pucci and her husband Paul; her best friend Marjory Hughes and her husband Roger; numerous nieces and nephews among whom are Sister Mary of the Sacred Heart. Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 13^th at 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., followed by her committal service and burial at Gate of heaven Cemetery, 412 Tinkham Rd., both in Springfield. Relatives and friends may call on Monday evening at the funeral home from 4-7 PM.
