Gary F. Moquin

June 1, 1944 ~ March 18, 2017 (age 72) 72 Years Old

Gary F. Moquin, 72, of Ludlow, a former longtime resident of Springfield, died early Saturday morning, March 18, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Ludlow, educated in Springfield, a son of the late Arnold and Helena (Hammond) Moquin. Gary was employed for fifty years as a chemical blender at Heatbath Corporation of Indian Orchard. Some of his favorite pastimes included his love of the ocean and deep sea fishing, music, hockey and most importantly the New England Patriots. But certainly his greatest passion was the love of his family, especially his wife Nancy who was his greatest & most valued treasure. He was delighted to hold his wife’s hand and kiss her tenderly in good times and bad. Gary loved the life and family that they created, and more recently the solitude and togetherness of spending long rides with his devoted wife by his side. Spending time with family was always first and foremost, and he and Nancy made the most of the time they were able to spend with their beloved grandchildren. It truly was a fairy tale story of two people who fell in love and stayed in love for over fifty years. He is survived by his devoted wife and best friend of fifty years, Nancy J. (Walczak) Moquin of Ludlow and leaves two loving daughters, Cindy A. Reejhsinghani and her husband Alok of Westport, CT and Lisa J. Bush and her companion Robert Wilson of Springfield; five dearly cherished grandchildren, Bridge, Layla, Jenna, Chandan and Jade; two brothers, Richard Moquin of Springfield, and Thomas Moquin and his wife Sandra of Ludlow; a brother-in-law, Vincent Martins of Indian Orchard; as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews and lifelong friends. Besides his parents, Gary was predeceased by his sister, Barbara Martins and his sister-in-law, Claudia Moquin. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday evening from 4-7 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., Springfield. A funeral home service will be held on Thursday morning, March 23rd at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Moquin family lot at St. Aloysius Cemetery, on Berkshire Ave., in Springfield.
