Helena V. (Libera) Boydak, of Wilbraham, left this world on February 4, 2017 with courage, grace and a shining example to her family. The Boydak’s moved from Stamford, CT to Wilbraham in 1970. She became a Welcome Wagon hostess for the Town of Wilbraham, and shortly thereafter began a long career as a very successful real estate broker with Better Homes & Gardens. Along with her career, Helena pursued her love and passion for the game of golf. She and her husband Joe travelled to numerous championship golf clubs to experience their majestic views and difficult course challenges. As a longtime member of the Country Club of Wilbraham, she headed their Beautification Committee, which was responsible each spring for designing the planned landscape and plantings. Helena formerly served as President of the club’s Women’s Assoc., and the Board of Directors. She competed and won many of the clubs annual tournaments, but her most prized, was her winning the Club Championship. Helena was a devout Catholic and longtime communicant of St. Cecilia’s Parish in Wilbraham, and exhibited a deep faith that remained a constant theme in her daily life. Helena formerly served three terms as President of St. Cecilia’s Catholic Women’s Club and was the recipient of the Bishop’s Award. She was the devoted wife of the late Joseph P. Boydak who died in 1991 and leaves one loving daughter, Cynthia B. Zucco of Springfield; her most precious granddaughter, Marissa Zucco; her step-grandson, Jason Zucco; her sister, Euphemia and brother Richard; along with fourteen nieces and nephews. Besides her husband, she was predeceased by her son-in-law, David Zucco in 2008, her sisters, Isabelle and Frances; and her brothers, Raymond and Edward. Her family treasures the gifts, memories and wisdom that she has passed on to each of them, especially the yearly vacation treat to Cape Cod with all of her family. Helena excelled at the game of bridge, enjoyed planning and hosting parties, gourmet cooking, painting, crafts, travelling, the theater and the symphony. Her family would like to extend a special thanks to all of the wonderful staff at Life Care of Wilbraham.  A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 27th at 10:00 AM in St. Cecilia’s Church, 64 Main St., in Wilbraham.
