Kiaran O’Brien, 70, of Hampden, MA, passed away on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. Born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, she was the daughter of the late James W. O’Brien and Rose E. Packer. She obtained her undergraduate BA degree from Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, MI. She received her graduate degree from the School of Visual Arts in NYC. Kiaran’s career spanned working as a graphic designer for Medical Economics in Oradell, NJ, an Art Director at Milton Bradley (Hasbro) in East Longmeadow, MA, and she also owned two graphic design businesses (20 years collectively): Spectrum Studios (Palmer) and Elan Marketing (Hampden). Kiaran was an accomplished musician, playing the viola and the recorder. She was a beloved and active member of The Federated Community Church of Hampden, MA. Her hobbies included gardening, kayaking, traveling, and visiting archeology sites. Kiaran is survived by one daughter, Tara Arasin (nee Fontanella), her husband, Daniel, and three grandchildren: Sage Josephine (deceased), Elianna and Gianna. Kiaran was loved and will be missed by many family, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 12, 2017 at 11:00 am at The Federated Community Church of Hampden, 590 Main St, Hampden, MA 01036. Interment will be at the discretion of the family.
