Maria Balbina Ferreira Evaristo Fortunato, 96, of Ludlow passed away on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at Redstone Nursing Home. Born in Lourinha, Portugal in April of 1921 she was the daughter of the late Anibal Marques Evaristo and Ermelinda DasMerces Ferreira. Balbina was predeceased by her husband Jose Fortunato in 1995, her son Jose F. Fortunato in 2013, and her brothers Francisco and Jose Evaristo. She leaves her two children, Decio F. Fortunato Leonardo and his wife Maria Selma of Ludlow and Ermelinda F. Fortunato; her eleven grandchildren, Sandy, Elizabeth (Liz), Sara, Anna, Elijah, Rebeca, Samuel, Decio, Nephi, Eve, and Yoseph; ten great-grandchildren; and her sister, Amalia E. Delgado of Portugal. A calling hour for Balbina will be held on Thursday, July 27, 2017 from 9-10am at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield followed by an 11:30am service at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 584 West St, Ludlow.
