Thomas D. Morris, 69, a longtime resident of Springfield, died early Thursday morning, May 19, 2017 in the comfort of his home. He was born in Gloucester, MA a son of the late John and Elva (Byrnes) Morris. Tom enjoyed fishing, golfing and in his earlier years bowling as well. He was employed for the better part of his life as a chef recently retiring after 12 years at Heritage Woods in Agawam. He is survived by his loving wife of 24 years, Martha M. (Ouimette) Morris and leaves 3 children, Amy Garron  and her husband Ronnie of Chicopee, Julie Croisetiere and her husband Bill of Dighton, MA and Eric Morris and his wife Christine of Shrewsbury; two step-children, Michael Butler of Indian Orchard and Marie Butler of San Mateo, CA; a brother Charles Morris of Ripon, WI; four sisters, Diane Murphy of Blythewood, SC, Bonnie Backlund of Snohomish, WA, Jonelle Schroeder of Vero Beach, FL, and Christina Forbes of Springfield; 4 grandchildren, 1 step-grandson, and many nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was recently predeceased by his sister Laurena Troyer.
