Verba (Collester) Miller, 86, a lifelong resident of Springfield, passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2017 at the Life Care Center of Wilbraham. Verba was born on October 3, 1930, the daughter of the late Robert and Verba (Eggert) Collester. Verba was a graduate of Classical High School and the Park Edge Secretarial School. While Verba was raising her three children, she was active in the Parent Teacher Associations and she was a member of the Springfield Conservation Commission in the 1960s. Once the children were grown, she was employed by Fotomat Corporation as a Route Driver and Supervisor. She had found the perfect job as she loved to drive and she logged almost a million miles with the company. Verba loved visiting Cape Cod, watching the birds, reading, and trying new restaurants. She especially loved her dogs, Pretzel and Butzen. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her husband Robert J. Miller in 2008. Verba is survived by her best friend of forty years, Joan Chmura of Springfield. She is also survived by her three devoted children; Verba Fanolis and her husband Harry, and Jeff Miller and his wife Jennifer all of Wilbraham, and Cynthia Perella of Springfield. She also leaves her six grandchildren; Stephen and Alex Fanolis, Liza Perella, and Samantha, Kyla, and Sean Miller.
