Alan P. Hicks, 60 of Pelham, New Hampshire and formerly of Hampden, MA, passed away on Tuesday, June 27, 2017. Alan was born in Springfield on July 25, 1956, the son of Thelma (Dunsmoor) Hicks of Hampden and the late Arthur Hicks. Alan was a graduate of Minnechaug Regional High School in Wilbraham, Class of 1974. He also graduated from the University of Lowell. Alan worked as a Software Engineer for many years in the Lowell, MA and Southern, NH area. He will be remembered as a kind, loving, generous person and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  Alan is survived by his mother Thelma Hicks; a brother, Russell Hicks and his wife Susan of East Hartford, CT; two sisters, Cynthia Fallon and her husband John of Apalachin, NY, and Sherryl Sparks of South Hadley; six nieces: Jessica, Sarrah, Christina, Jeanne, Laura and Shayna, a nephew Dylan, a great niece, Lexie; and two great nephews, Kegan and Logan. He is also survived by his former wife Sandra and her children.  Family and friends will honor and remember Alan on Monday, July 3^rd from 2-4 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA 01118, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 4:00 PM. Burial will follow at Old Cemetery in Hampden.
