Alice Irene (Lamoureux) LaVallee

Alice Irene (Lamoureux) LaVallee, 101, of Springfield, passed away on November 21, 2022, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Born in Wallingford, CT, on January 8, 1921, the daughter of the late Joseph and  Marie-Ann (Naud) Lamoureux. Alice was raised in Bristol, CT, graduating from Bristol High School in 1938. She married Roland A. LaVallee in 1943 and together they moved to Springfield in 1946. They shared 51 years of marriage, before Roland passed away in 1994. Alice was a communicant of the former St. Joseph’s Church in Springfield and most recently was a communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield accompanied by her friend Mark Conway. Alice was devoted to raising her two children and was a volunteer at the Riverbend Medical Center in the Records Department. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Roland A. LaVallee, a brother, Omer Lamoureux and his wife, Yvette. Alice is survived by her two devoted children,  Janet L. Holden and her husband, David, of Chatham, MA; and Alan W. LaVallee and his wife Janet of Springfield; her brother Paul Lamoureux  and his wife Rosalyn of Wallingford, CT;  her  5 beloved grandchildren, Christopher P. Holden and his partner, Danielle Fleming; Matthew D. Holden and his wife, Lindsay; Jennie  M. Beliveau and her husband Nick; Beth A. Gokey and her husband, Dan; and Christine L. Rodriguez and her husband Javi. She leaves her nine cherished great-grandchildren, Ryan,  Parker,  Brooke, Henry, Lincoln, Frederick, Colette, Cole, and Frankie, as well as several nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather and remember Alice on Saturday, December 3, 2022, from 9 AM -10:30 AM at Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11 AM in St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. Burial will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choosing.
