Aline "Tiny" Burt

Aline “Tiny” (Wells) Burt, 96, of Hampden, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 14, 2019 in the comfort of her home. Tiny was born and educated in Springfield on November 11, 1922, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Tanner) Wells and was a graduate of the former Classical High School Class of 1940 1/2. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hampden and was a former member and Past President of the Catholic Woman’s Club. Tiny was a member of the Hampden Lions Club and the Scantic Senior Club where she held many positions. She also served as Past President of the Tenants Association of Hampden, was a former Girl Scout Leader and an active member at the Hampden Senior Center. In addition to her parents, Tiny also was predeceased by her husband Frank Burt, her brother, G. Allison Wells, and two sisters, Edith Stuart and Mary Dunn. Tiny leaves five loving children, Thomas Burt and his wife Suzanne of Washington, NH, David Burt and his wife Karen of Hot Springs Village, AK, Susan Williams and her husband James of Hampden, Jane Budynkiewicz and her husband Michael of Hampden, and Heather Lopardo and her husband James of Hampden; as well as fifteen cherished grandchildren, 23 great- grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. Family and friends will gather and remember Tiny on Tuesday, May 21, 2019 from 9:00 – 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 12 noon at St. Mary’s Church, 27 Somers Road, with Rites of Committal to conclude at Prospect Hill Cemetery, both in Hampden.
