Alma Thomas

Alma (Callaway) Thomas, of Hartford, CT., passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Alma was born in Athens, Georgia, on May 22, 1939, the daughter of the late Robert and Annie (Evans) Callaway. She was a teacher in the Hartford public school system and retired after 35 years of service. She was a proud member of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority. Alma is survived by her four devoted sons Derrick Thomas of South Windsor, CT., Terry Thomas and his wife Awilda of Windsor, CT., James Thomas of South Windsor, CT., and Michael Thomas of Enfield, CT., she also leaves three brothers Donald, William and Terry Callaway and a sister Joyce Killian, and six cherished grandchildren Brandon, Ariella, Torrey, Brittaney, Christian and Justin and a great-grandchild Zayah, and her former husband James B.
