Angela M. Kennedy

Angela M. Kennedy, 72, of East Longmeadow, passed away at her home on July 4, 2021. Angela was born in Providence, Rhode Island on November 23, 1948, the daughter of the late Ignace and Stephanie (Razukiewicz) Chmielewski. Angela was a graduate of Keene State College in Keene, New Hampshire. She was a Home Economics teacher for over 35 years at East Longmeadow High School and Duggan Middle School in Springfield. She spent her retirement years volunteering at the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center and being a trusted listener to anyone who needed a kind ear. In addition to her parents, Angela was predeceased by a brother, Edmund Chmielewski, and a sister-in-law, Pauline Chmielewski. She is survived by her loving daughter, Laura Kennedy of Boston, Massachusetts, a brother, Ronald Chmielewski of Springfield, and a sister, Stephanie Francis and her husband, Mark, of Winterport, Maine. Angela also leaves her nieces, nephews and their children, whom she loved very much, along with a close group of friends, who meant the world to her. She will be deeply missed by all who loved her. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, July 9, 2021 at 10 a.m. meeting directly at St. Patrick’s Church, 1900 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will follow in St. Michael’s Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, July 8, 2021 from 4-6 p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield.
