Bruce C. Person

Bruce C. Person, 78, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. Bruce was born in Boston, MA. on July 1, 1943, the son of the late Clayton and Edna (Tracy) Person. He was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School.  Bruce retired from Canteen Corporation after 40 years of service.  Bruce enjoyed his retirement working at the MassMutual Center events, volunteering at the Whip City Raceway, golfing, and traveling.  Bruce was a long time member and supporter of the Melha Shriners and Shriners Children Hospital.  He is survived by his beloved wife Gloria (O’Neil) Person of Springfield, three devoted children Wendy Person of East Longmeadow, Brenda Penland of Erwin, TN and Brian Person and his wife Lisa of Wilbraham, and he leaves four adored grandchildren Abigail Person, Timothy Person, Kyle Penland and Justin Penland. Family and friends will gather and remember Bruce on Thursday, January 6, 2022 from 10-11a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 11a.m. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
