Carolyn “Bambi” Bradford Victoria Bampos, 84, died on June 12, 2022; surrounded by her loving family. Carolyn was born on May 24, 1938, in Quincy Massachusetts, a daughter to Leon and Maxine Smith. She worked for the USPS as a workmen’s compensation director. Carolyn had a passion for all sports, especially tennis and for the New England Patriots and Georgia Bulldogs. She enjoyed watching them with her grandchildren every Saturday and Sunday. Carolyn was known for her extraordinary baking skills. Anytime there was any kind of function, she was always requested to bring one of her famous baked goods. Never was a boxed cake or brownie mix ever used. Everything always had to be made from scratch. Carolyn also enjoyed her trips to Maine with her friends. She enjoyed going every year to visit the Nubble Lighthouse and eat at one of her favorite seafood spots, Bob’s Clam Hut. Carolyn will alway be remembered as the “sass queen” who always was cracking jokes no matter how she was feeling. Even on her final day, she kept her fighting spirit and sassiness, poking fun at the nurses and her family. Carolyn is survived by a daughter and her husband, Whitney and Dean Brust of Enfield, CT and a son and his wife, Dana and Dawn Hammett of Longmeadow, MA. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Arianne Brust, Taylor Brust, and Christian Hammett. Carolyn was predeceased by her husband, Paul Bampos, her sister Jean McCorry and brother Lewis Smith. The family will be honored to receive friends from 9:30AM-11:30AM on Friday June 17, 2022 at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
