Carolyn Jean (Baier) Siano, 89, of Hampden, died early Monday morning, December 30, 2019 at Orchard Valley of Wilbraham. She was born in Chelsea, MA a daughter of the late Henry M. and Gladys V. (Goss) Baier and was a graduate of the former Springfield Classical High School and North Adams State Teachers College where she earned her BS degree in Early Education. Carolyn was employed as an elementary school teacher for many years for the Town of Hampden School Department. She served as secretary for the Springfield Sportsman’s Club for over 26 years, and was active with the former Hampden Promenaders, served as State Secretary of the Alpha Delta Kappa Society, and volunteered for the Hampden Senior Center. She was the loving wife of 65 years to the late John A. Siano who died in 2017 and leaves her son, John Siano and his wife Lori of Alstead, NH; her three daughters, Karen Myracle and her husband Lauren Comstock of Hampden, Brenda Markham and her husband Erwin of Monson, and Pamela Fardelos and her husband Demitri of Gurnee, IL; her sister, Patricia Breck of Leonardtown, MD; eight grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her two grandsons, Kory Whitman and Kyle Barton. A funeral home service will be held on Saturday, January 4th at 11:00 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St, followed by Rites of Committal at St. Michael’s Cemetery, both in Springfield. A calling hour will precede her funeral on Saturday morning from 10-11 AM. Contributions in her memory may be directed to the Hampden Senior Center.
