Carolyn Alice (Barrus) Sistare, 90, of East Longmeadow passed away on Friday, December 22, 2017 at Redstone Nursing Home. Born in Springfield on March 1, 1927 she was the daughter of the late Donald Barrus Sr. and Agnes (King) Barrus. Along with her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her daughter, Pamela K. Smith; her two sisters, Eleanor M. Barrus and Dorothy R. Barrus; and her brother, Rev. Donald S. Barrus, Jr. She leaves her daughter, Deborah C. Sistare of East Longmeadow; two sons, Paul D. Sistare of Austin, TX and David F. Sistare and his wife Kathleen of Coventry, CT; her twin grandchildren, Kaitlyn P. and Tristan D. Sistare; her brother Robert N. Barrus and his wife Kathleen of New Milford, CT; and many nieces and nephews. All funeral services for Carolyn will be private. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to a charity of one’s choice.
