Catherine M. (Sullivan) Scanlon, 93, of Longmeadow, formerly of the Hungry Hill Section of Springfield, died early Thursday afternoon, June 15, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center, with her loving family at her side. She was born and educated in Springfield, a daughter of the late Michael J. and Catherine M. (O’Connor) Sullivan. Catherine was employed with the former Westinghouse Corporation and later as a teacher’s aide at Our Lady of Hope School, both of Springfield. She was the devoted wife of the late Thomas Scanlon who died in 1968 and leaves two loving children, Thomas M. Scanlon of Springfield, and Ann Marie Scanlon; two cherished grandchildren; Dylan T. and Tyler D. Scanlon; a daughter-in-law Rosemarie Antico and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her siblings, Thomas, John and Walter Sullivan. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday afternoon, June 20th from 4-6 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street in Springfield. Followed by a Funeral Home Service at 6 PM. Burial will be private at St. Michael’s Cemetery.
