Clorena A. Ranson, 70, of Springfield, passed away on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Sixteen Acres Health Care Center. She was born in Beaumont, TX, on February 7, 1951, the daughter of the late Linton and Clorena (Myers) Ranson. Clorena was educated in the Springfield Public School system and graduated from The High School of Commerce Class of 1970. After graduation, Clorena relocated to Oakland, California working in housekeeping field. She moved back to Massachusetts in 1975 working at Mercy Hospital and Ramada Inn as a housekeeper. She also enjoyed volunteering at Little Rascals Daycare. Her hobbies included bowling, bingo and babysitting. Clorena was a loyal member of Christian Faith Baptist Church and served as senior choir member, an honorary usher, a member of the United Church Usher Inc., as well as one of the founding members. She was also a missionary as well as serving as the pastor’s aide. Clorena is survived by her four devoted children, Una Bradshaw and her husband Jason of Martinsville, VA, Shevie Brooks and her husband Donald of St. Paul, MN, Shanice Ibrahim of Springfield and Brandon Thompson of Springfield; four loving sisters, Marcel Lee Lewis and her husband Leon of Oakland, CA, Georgia Mae Allen and her husband James of Beaumont, TX, Ethel Mae Fryar with husband Chuck, and Patricia Ann Moss both of Springfield, MA; eight cherished grandchildren, Andrade, Jaylynn, Alannah, Imani, Leila, Peyton, Micah and Emmanuel. Family and friends will gather and remember Clorena on Thursday, August 19, 2021 from 11-12noon at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118, followed by a Funeral Home Service at 12 noon. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery in Springfield.
