David C Hart

June 21, 1951 ~ April 2, 2022 (age 70)

David C. Hart, 70, of Springfield, died unexpectedly Saturday, April 2, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family. David was born in Easthampton, MA in 1951, the son of the late Willis and Phyllis (Cole) Hart of West Springfield. He was long a parishioner of Holy Name, but more recently of St. Michaels in Springfield. A consummate salesman, he continued working long into retirement whether it was selling real estate or working on the ski slopes. He could be always be found with a good book, a witty joke and a raucous laugh or quietly helping someone in need. David was thoughtful in the truest sense. He loved the ocean, exploring nature, skiing, biking, sailing, basketball, golf, physics, poetry and music of all kinds. But more than of any of that, he loved caring for his family. He is survived by the love of his life, Marcine C. (Wynne) Hart of Springfield, devoted daughter, Melissa Quinn and her husband Jeff, an adored granddaughter Nora Quinn, all of Wakefield, and three sisters, Susan Coffey of Westfield, Kathy Loiselle of Springfield and Mary Hart of Palmer. He leaves a brother-in-law John Wynne and his wife Janet, and sister-in-law JoAnne LaFleche and her husband Dennis, as well as his nieces and nephew: Meghan, Sean and Caitlin Coffey, Jennifer and Christopher Loiselle, Joshua and Sabrina Fowler, Christine Smith, Michelle, Anna and Kathleen Wynne along with many great nieces and nephews who always brought a smile to his face. Family and friends will meet directly on Monday, April 11, for a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 10a.m. in St. Michael’s Cathedral, 260 State Street, Springfield.  Calling hours will be held on Sunday, April 10, from 4-7pm at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Memorial contributions may be made to Habitat for Humanity. For additional information, please visit
