Diane L. (Barger) Bentley

Diane L. Bentley (Barger), 73, passed away peacefully at home after a long strong and courageous journey with cancer on October 12, 2020 in St. Cloud, FL surrounded by her loving family and longtime friend at her bedside. Her final days were spent sharing and remembering the many memories of all her journeys and adventures of her amazing life. Diane was born to Frances and Glenwood Barger and lived her life in Springfield, MA graduating from the High School of Commerce. Prior to moving to Florida in 2010, she enjoyed a rewarding long career with the Springfield School Department after serving as Head Cook in various schools. After retiring and moving to Florida, she continued sharing her experience, knowledge and culinary skills with The School District of Osceola County, FL. Her legacy will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she interacted with. Her life journey had many adventures including her avid love of all things Disney and especially Mickey Mouse. She also enjoyed sightseeing the outdoors through camping, going to the beach and walking the many trails that nature has to enjoy. Family members she leaves behind to cherish her memory include her son, James E. Bentley, Jr., of MA; her sister, Susan and brother-in-law Edward Kaufmann of NH; her brothers, David Barger of St. Cloud, FL and Gordon Barger of MA; her two grandsons, and many friends. She will also be remembered fondly by her six nieces for the support, kindness and difference she made in their lives. Diane was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Charles, who were waiting for her with open arms. Funeral arrangements will be private and at the convenience of the family.
