Tribute

It is with our greatest sorrow, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Dolores E. (DeCarlo) Knowles, 93, early Thursday evening, March 5, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born and educated in Springfield, a daughter of the late Angelo and Angiolina (Tuccitta) DeCarlo and was a lifelong resident of Springfield. Dolores retired from the City of Springfield after many years, and was an active communicant and Eucharistic Minister of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Parish. She was an active member of the Sixteen Acres Golden Agers Club where she served as former Past President. Dolores was the devoted wife of the late William E. Knowles who died in 1981 and leaves 5 children, Karen Senecal and her husband Paul of Marlborough, MA, Dolores “Dee” Cyers of Ludlow, Joanne Giguere and her husband James of East Longmeadow, Suzanne Wyzik and her husband Jack of Belchertown, and Cheryl Knowles with whom she made her home in Springfield; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Relatives and friends may call on Friday morning, March 13th from 10-11 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, followed by a funeral home service beginning at 11:00 AM with Rites of Committal concluding at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, both in Springfield.
