Donald E. Sharpy, 78, of Bradenton, FL, formerly of MA, passed away on Monday, November 5, 2018. Born in Detroit, MI on May 2, 1940 he was the son of the late Veto and Mary (Meyo) Sharpy. Donald proudly served in the US Air Force. He had several jobs and enjoyed running his own business for many years. Most recently, he worked for the City of Springfield’s DPW, from which he retired. He moved to Florida 8 years ago and absolutely loved it. He was an out-going, happy, positive, spontaneous, and live in the moment kind of guy. He enjoyed antiquing and traveling; especially to Harsens Island in Michigan, where he loved being on the water. Above anything else, his time with his family was most important to him. Along with his parents, Donald was predeceased by his grandson, Michael Lamoureux. He leaves his three loving children, Dwayne Sharpy and his wife Yvonne of Poughquag, NY, Dean Sharpy and his wife Julie of East Longmeadow, and Debra Lamoureux of Townsend, DE; five grandchildren, Daniel Lamoureux and his wife Danielle, Nicole Lamoureux, and Tiffany, Jonathan, and Joshua Sharpy; two sisters, Joyce Moore and her husband Duane of New Baltimore, MI and Judy Dillon and her husband Pat of Tybee Island, GA; and many friends in Bradenton, FL. Calling hours for Donald will be held on Sunday, November 11, 2018 from 1-3pm at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield.
