Dorothy (Kelleher) O’Brien, 81, of Longmeadow passed away peacefully in her sleep on Thursday, August 10, 2017. Through her gregarious, inquisitive, and adventurous nature, she lived a full life, surrounded by great friends and loving family. Born in Springfield on April 13, 1936, she was the daughter of the late George and Helen (Parker) Kelleher. Dorothy was a 1953 graduate of Springfield Technical High School and a 1957 graduate of Boston University College of Liberal Arts. She enjoyed selling real estate for Landry and Lyons and devoted over 20 years to the Cardiac Surgery Dept. at Baystate Medical Center.

Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband, George O’Brien, her son, Eric O’Brien, and her brother, Gerald Kelleher. She leaves her two beautiful daughters, Tracy Stanek and her husband James of East Longmeadow, and Kelly Forrister and her husband John of Ojai, CA; three cherished grandchildren, Joshua and Ashlee Stanek, and McKenzie O’Brien; and her dear cousin Helen “Honey” Verani.

Visiting Hours will be held Tuesday, August 15, 2017 from 4–6pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 6pm at Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St, Springfield.
