September 28, 1933 ~ September 26, 2019 (age 85) 85 Years Old

Tribute

Douglas Bradway, 85, succumbed to injuries from an August 20th auto accident.  Born in Springfield on September 28, 1933, Doug was an artist, educator, and antiques dealer.  He graduated from UMass Amherst and taught briefly at Springfield College before leaving the area to work with a Native American Communications group as a commercial artist and designer.  On his return, he took over the Commercial Art Department at Putnam Vocational Technical High School and worked there until his retirement. Doug became an antiques dealer in his summers off from school and continued after his retirement. He leaves his wife and friend of 52 years Connie; his children, Laurie Bradway of Richmond, VT and Eric Bradway and his wife Candace of East Haven, CT; his sister, Judith Dawson (Paul) of Scituate, RI; his sister-in-law, Sherrill Bradway of Springfield, and several nieces and nephews.  He was predeceased by his parents Thurston and Patricia (Fredette) and his brother, David. Douglas was such a kind and gentle man that in lieu of flowers or donations he would have appreciated help to bring civility back into this world by performing an act of kindness for someone, a group, or cause. All services and burial will be private. Arrangements entrusted to the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118.
