Edward F. Majkut, 88, of Orleans, MA., and formerly of Hampden, MA, passed away on Tuesday, October 30, 2018, at the Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis, MA, surrounded by his loving family. Edward was born in Providence, Rhode Island on March 21, 1930, the son of the late Joseph and Sophia Majkut. He held a degree in Business Management from Pace College. Edward proudly served our country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He worked in the Office Products Division of IBM his entire career and loved fishing and lobstering on the waters of Cape Cod. In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his wife Shirley (Carlson) Majkut in 2006, and he also was predeceased by his siblings, Henry Majkut, Anne LaCroix, Helen Hopkins, Irene Keyes and John Majkut. He is survived by his three devoted sons Steven Majkut and his wife Vanessa of Upton, MA., John Majkut and his wife Mary of Townsend, MA., and Robert Majkut and his wife Marylou of Vero Beach, FL., and he leaves his cherished grandchildren Robert Majkut and his wife Holly, Matthew Majkut and his wife Dawn, Michelle Majkut, Thomas Majkut and his wife Renee, Alison Majkut Klint and her husband Carl and Andrew Majkut, as well as three great-grandchildren Jonas, Oliver and Maisie. He is also survived by his dear friend Elsie Bradway. Family and friends will gather and remember Edward on Monday, November 5, 2018 from 9:30a.m. - 11a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA, 01118. Followed by a Life Celebration Service at 11a.m. Burial and Military Honors will conclude in Old Cemetery in Hampden. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
