Tribute

Edwin Pastreck, 86, of East Longmeadow, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2019 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and educated in Springfield MA where he met and married his beloved wife Maureen Ann (Myers) Pastreck, who passed on the same date, August 15, in 2012. Edwin proudly served in the US Army 82nd Airborne Division and was a Veteran of the Korean War. He worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft for over 30 years and retired in 1988.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by his two younger brothers James Pastreck (1999) and Jere Pastreck (2013). He is survived by his devoted children, Joseph Pastreck and Mary Kaselouskas and her husband Charles of East Longmeadow, and his two cherished grandsons Michael Kaselouskas and Bryan Kaselouskas.

Edwin “Pat” loved life and was very active in fishing, hunting, skydiving, snowmobiling, water skiing, scuba diving, and riding his motorcycles and horses. He spent many hours feeding and watching the deer, turkeys, birds and other wildlife on his property. He enjoyed the daily visits from his many friends and neighbors and especially looked forward to time with his best friend Dick Turnberg, who helped him during his illness. We are sincerely grateful for his support. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him, especially his grandsons who learned so much from papa.

Family and friends will gather for a prayer and committal service to remember Edwin on Thursday, August 22, 2019 at 2p.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery Chapel, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. In lieu of flowers, please send donations in Edwin’s honor to Glastonbury Abbey, 16 Hull Street, Hingham, MA 02043. Arrangements entrusted to the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA.
