Esther A. (Folta) Rosati, 94, of East Longmeadow passed away on Monday, February 18, 2019. She died peacefully in her sleep, following a short illness. Born in Holyoke on July 31, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Roman and Anna (Jakubasz) Folta. She married husband Warren of East Longmeadow in 1947, and they settled there, building their lifetime home in 1948. A graduate of the Springfield Hospital School of Nursing, Esther worked as an RN for Westfield Sanitarium, later a private physician, and finally as School Nurse for East Longmeadow. She was a member of the First Congregational Church in East Longmeadow, Tobacco Valley Artists Association in Agawam, and a long-time member and past president of the Springfield Garden Club. Esther was an accredited flower show judge and was a founder and former president of the East Longmeadow Garden Club. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, painting and art, making floral arrangements, boating, and camping. When she was younger, Esther was an avid skier and an original member of the Springfield Ski Club. She loved world travel, and was fortunate enough to visit 6 of the 7 continents (no Antarctica!). Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Warren E. Rosati, in 1996 and her brother, Ramon Folta. Esther leaves her son Ramon W. Rosati and his wife Linda F. Quenzer of Weatogue, CT; her two daughters, Sandra L. Potter and her husband John of Harwich, MA, and Cynthia A. Selby and her husband David of Waterbury Ctr, VT; her five grandchildren, Renee Albert, Lauren Cousineau, Meira DiNardi, Elana Mentasti, and Alexander Rosati; and her six great grandchildren, Ava Cousineau, Isabella Sillinpaa, Dante and Sicily DiNardi, and Eva and Aliya Mentasti. Visitation will be held on Monday, April 8, 2019 from 10:30 am – 11:15 am followed by a funeral home service at 11:15am at Byron Keenan Funeral Home in Springfield. Interment will be private.
