Evelyn (Banks) Brown, 80, of Springfield, passed away on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born in Clarksdale, MS., on December 26, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Maggie (Burton) Banks. Evelyn was a bus driver for the City of Springfield. She enjoyed going on cruises, crossword puzzles, talking with family and cuddling with her dog Goldie. In addition to her parents, she was also predeceased by her beloved husband Coley Brown, and two grandchildren Anthony Brown and Marcus Brown and a sister Leona Nichols-Brown and Shirley Banks-Brooks. She is survived by her three devoted children Yvette Thomas and her husband Vincent of Sarasota, FL., Kevin Brown and his wife Tammy of Springfield and Kenneth Brown and his wife Rosetta of Springfield, and three brothers Lloyd Banks, Calvin Banks, Oliver Banks, and six sisters, Edmonia Webb, Marietta Bailey, Noami Dawkins, Anita Walker, Ruth Golden, Della Banks, and she leaves her cherished grandchildren, Nicole Brown, Veronica Brown, Shomaria McAllister, Tia Brown-Nieves, Caliyah Brown, Kevin Brown Jr., Brionna Thomas Vincent Thomas, Kenneth Brown, Jordan Brown, and she leaves her great-grandchildren, Kennith Brown, Kaleb Brown, Adison Ellis, Jaidin Brown, Nicolas Ellis, Nola Brown-Nieves, Calliope Brown and Annaleah LaPorte. All services and burial were private at Hillcrest Park Cemetery in Springfield.
