Gemma I. (Paine) Ambrose

Gemma I. (Paine) Ambrose, 88, of Gardner, formerly of Springfield and Holyoke, died late Sunday morning, February 19, 2023 in Gardner, Massachusetts. She was born and educated in Framingham, MA a daughter of the late Orlando and Mary Jane (McKenzie) Paine. Gemma was employed for many years in several different capacities, most recently as a CNA in the health care industry from which she retired. She was the beloved wife of the late John E. Ambrose, Sr., and leaves two sons, John E. Ambrose, Jr. of Holyoke, and William T. Ambrose and his wife Cora of Gardner; her sister, Barbara Zicuis of Holyoke; 4 grandchildren, Eric Ambrose, Russell Ambrose, Robert Ambrose and Crystal Ambrose; 10 great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, February 25th at 10 AM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., with burial to follow at St. Michael’s Cemetery, both in Springfield. Family and friends may call on Saturday morning prior to her funeral from 9:00 – 10:00 AM.
