Helen D. (Stowers) Danton, 99, of Springfield passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Wales, MA., on August 14, 1918 the daughter of the late Charles and Grace (Shaw) Stowers. Helen was a social butterfly, enjoying everyone’s company and treasured being with all her family and friends. She was an avid member of the Pine Point Golden Agers and served many committees. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Carl Danton in 1994. She is survived by her devoted daughter Judith Glynn of Springfield; her sister Joan Manser of West Springfield; and six adored grandchildren; and twelve great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her son, Charles C. Danton in 2014, her three brothers, and two sisters. Helen’s family would like to thank the Wellington at Springfield Assisted Living and the Beacon Hospice for their compassion and care given to Helen and her family during her time there.  A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, September 25, 2017 at 11am at Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St, Springfield followed by burial in Hillcrest Park Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the service from 9-11am. Donations may be made in Helen’s memory to a charity of one’s choice.  For further information please visit byronkeenan.com.
