Jane Ellen Lyons

Jane E. (O’Connell) Lyons, 73, of Springfield, formerly of Holyoke, died Saturday, May 21, 2022 at Baystate Medical Center. She was born and educated in Holyoke, MA a daughter of the late Edward P. and Dorothy F. (Hoffman) O’Connell and was a graduate of Holyoke High School. Jane was employed for many years in the dry cleaning industry as a customer service representative; she most recently was employed with Mirkin’s Cleaners. She was a loyal sports enthusiast who followed all of the Boston teams, enjoyed playing on occasion scratch tickets, visits to the Dollar Tree, ice coffees from Dunkin Donuts and McDonalds, trips to Aruba, Cape Cod and Hampton Beach. She also cherished the time she spent watching her grandson play football and baseball. She is survived by her best friend and loving husband of forty-nine years, Edward J. Lyons and leaves two loving daughters, Kelley L. Lyons of Springfield, and Kerry E. Norman and her husband Greg of Agawam; her sister, Lynn A. Manners and her husband Doug of East Longmeadow; her brother-in-law, Richard C. Lyons of East Longmeadow; three cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn Marie and Eduardo “EJ” Nieves, and Anthony R. Norman; a great-grandson, Sebashtian A. Rodriguez; and three nephews and one niece. Relatives and friends may call on Thursday evening, May 26th from 5-7 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. A Funeral Home service will be held Friday morning, May 27th at 9:00 AM with burial to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Road, Springfield.
