Jean Katherine Carbonneau

Jean (Daley) Carbonneau, 100 of Longmeadow, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2022 at Glenmeadow in Longmeadow, MA. She was born January 11, 1922 in Malden, MA, the daughter of the late William and Margaret (Rooney) Daley. Jean was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs School in Boston, MA. She worked as an Executive Secretary for a number of businesses and corporations in the Springfield area. Jean married her late husband Leo Carbonneau and they moved to Longmeadow in 1956. She enjoyed traveling and entertaining family and friends at her home. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Leo, a brother, Robert, and a son, David.  She is survived by her daughter, Andrea McQuade of Rutland, VT, grandchildren Maura McQuade, Winooski, VT, Conor McQuade, Bristol, VT, and a great grandchild, Miles McQuade.  She is also survived by nieces Nancy Cheper of Ada, OK, and Peggy Fry of Tulsa, OK, along with her special cousins Patricia Redican of Stamford, CT, Valerie Sullivan of Rye, NY and Veronica Wills of O’Fallon, MO. She also was predeceased by her dear friend Dr. Edward Walsh and his daughter Margaret Billings, and he leaves his daughters Katie Madore, Harriet Kulig, Jane Borjas and Susan Sylvestri who had a special relationship with Jean.  The Carbonneau family would like to thank the caregivers and staff at Glenmeadow for their compassion, care and love given to Jean over the past four years. Family and friends will gather and remember Jean on Thursday, July 28, 2022 from 9-10a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Followed by a Liturgy of Christian Burial at 11am in St. Mary’s Church, 519 Longmeadow Street, Longmeadow. Burial will follow in Longmeadow Cemetery.  Donations may be made to Msgr.
