Jean E. (Gulbrandson) Fay Leach, 93, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 20, 2020 at her home surrounded by the love of her family.  Jean was born on October 22, 1926, a daughter of the late Hans and Emma (Nygren) Gulbrandson. Jean graduated from Commerce High School, class of 1944. After graduating she worked for a few years at an insurance company before marrying her first husband Arthur Fay, Jr. She enjoyed being a lunch mother for Glickman Elementary School in the sixty’s and seventy’s. For the rest of her life she was a homemaker and was deeply devoted to her husbands, her children, their spouses, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She has always been the heart of her family and she will be missed forever. Jean was a very loving person with an exceptionally kind heart. She loved people and had a special way of making everyone feel loved and welcomed.  Her remarkable spirit will be remembered by all who knew her. In recent years she had become an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching the games at home with her sons. She leaves four loving children, Thomas Fay of Springfield, Robert Fay of Tucson, AZ, Nancy Joanides and her husband Charles of Newburgh, NY, and Barbara Burgos and her husband Angel of Belchertown; six cherished grandchildren, Jason and Justin Fay, Stephan Joanides, Sara Buckley, Alexander and Nicholas Burgos; ten great-grandchildren, Jake, Emma, Brady, Andrew, Hayleigh Jean, Hudson, Abigail, Jack, Mason, and Lily. In addition to her parents, Jean was predeceased by her husbands, William Leach, and Arthur Fay, Jr., her son, William Fay; her brother, Walter Gulbrandson and her three sisters, Helen Blew, Edith Spence and Esther White. In consideration of current events, and keeping in mind our number one priority of protecting our families and our community, the family will have a private visitation at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA.
