Joan M. (Korbel) DeGray, 68 of Hampden, MA., passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on October 20th, after an 11 year battle with pancreatic cancer. Joan was born in Greenfield, MA., on October 10, 1951, daughter of the late James and Margaret (Feeney) Korbel. Joan graduated from Springfield Technical High School in 1970 and Springfield Technical Community College in 1972. She worked at Package Machiney until 1982. She then worked at Flag Fabels, inc. part time for 10 years. Following that she worked in the medical billing field, retiring from Meridian Medical Management. Joan was a parishioner of St. Mary's Church in Hampden. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading, shopping, spending time at Hampton beach, NH., driving up route 1 into Maine & spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her son Jason in 2008. Joan is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years, Edmond "Ned" DeGray of Hampden, her son Jeffrey DeGray and his wife Kelly of Somers CT., and her two cherished twin grandson's Casey and Jack DeGray. She also leaves a brother James Korbel and his wife Diane of Chicopee, MA., sister Marsha Deming and her husband Kent of Tower, MN. Funeral Services will be held privately by the family.
