Joan F. (McCrystal) Kibbe

Joan F. (McCrystal) Kibbe, 84, of Hampden, formerly of Springfield, died peacefully early Friday morning, November 16, 2018 in Hampden. She was born on September 4, 1934 in Springfield, a daughter of the late Henry P. and Anna E. (Walsh) McCrystal, and was educated from the Springfield School system. Joan was the devoted wife of the late Robert L. Kibbe who died in 2013 and leaves four loving children, Paul F. Kibbe and his wife Joan of Virginia Beach, VA, Catherine A. Flechsig and her husband Walter “Butch” of Ocklawaha, FL, Anna E. Dufresne and her husband Tom of Hampden, and Brian K. Kibbe and his wife Nancy of Ludlow; 11 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, 7 great great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, November 24th at 8:30 AM from the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield with a Liturgy of Christian Burial to follow at 10:00 AM at St. Mary’s Church, 27 Somers Road, in Hampden. Rites of Committal will conclude in the Kibbe family lot in Baptist Village Cemetery, in East Longmeadow. Relatives and friends may call on Friday evening, November 23rd from 4-7 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home.
