John A. Siano, 88, of Hampden passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Baystate Medical Center. Born in Springfield on March 4, 1929 he was a son of the late Angelo and Gabriell (Cote) Siano. John was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School and attended Western New England College. He proudly served as corporal in the United States Marine Corp during WWII and Second Marine Division in the mid-1940s. John owned and operated the Palm Café in Springfield for 30 years. He was a past president of both the Springfield Sportsmans Club and Hampden Promenaders. John was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Hampden. He leaves his loving wife of 65 years, Carolyn (Baier) Siano; his son, John Siano and his wife Lori of Alstead, NH; his three daughters, Karen Myracle and her husband Lauren Comstock of Hampden, Brenda Markham and her husband Erwin of Monson, and Pamela Fardelos and her husband Demitri of Chicago; his brother, Michael Siano of Baltimore, MD; his sister, Barbara Gilpatrick of South Hadley; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great-grandchildren. A funeral home service will be held on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 10am at Byron Keenan Funeral Home, 1858 Allen St, Springfield, followed by committal services with military honors in St. Michael’s Cemetery, Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 5-7pm. Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to Shriner’s Hospital for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104.
