Jolie A. Molleur

August 26, 1978 ~ July 18, 2017 (age 38) 38 Years Old

It’s been said that the strongest people we know are not those who show strength in front of us but those who win battles we knew nothing about. If that’s the measure then Jolie A. (Marcoux) Molleur was the strongest person most anyone will ever get to know.  Jolie passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was born in Springfield on August 26, 1978, a daughter of Joseph and Jean (Fortier) Marcoux. Jolie loved being a wife and mother, and she excelled at the opportunity. Her short years were filled with many wonderful experiences shared by her family and friends, these memories will be cherished forever. Jolie is survived by her husband, soulmate and best friend of over 12 years, Brian Molleur of West Springfield; her two loving daughters, Kayla Bergendale of West Springfield, and Hannah Carrier-Molleur of Westfield; her devoted mother, Jean Marcoux and her husband Donald Ferrero of Springfield; her devoted father, Joseph Marcoux and his wife Johannah of East Granby, CT; her caring brother, Michael Marcoux and his wife Ashley of Ludlow; her maternal grandmother, Marie Fortier of Springfield; her father and mother-in-law, Blake and Cheryl (Gillen) Molleur of  Westfield; two sisters-in-law, Deborah Molleur of Springfield, and Karen Joyce and her husband Al of East Longmeadow; as well as a large extended family. Jolie was predeceased by her maternal grandfather Noel Fortier, and her paternal grandparents, Joseph and Anne Marcoux. Jolie was educated in Springfield and was a graduate of Cathedral High School Class of 1996. Growing up, Jolie was quite the athlete. Whether it was winning a free throw contest, pitching a gem, or scoring from her right-wing position, #5 excelled at almost everything she did between the lines. Jolie also had an amazing heart when it came to animals. There wasn’t a stray Jolie wouldn’t take under her wing. Jolie also loved kayaking, and cheering for her daughters at soccer games and dance competitions. Jolie also took pride in scrapbooking, making beautiful memories for loved ones. Family and friends will remember Jolie on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at a Celebration of Life Service at 11a.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield, MA. Burial will conclude in Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Springfield. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 4p.m.-7p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, Jolie’s wish was to create an education fund. Contributions may be made to Jolie Molleur Memorial Fund c/o Michael Marcoux, PO Box 402, Ludlow MA 01056.
