Jonathan I. Hathaway, 49, of East Longmeadow, passed away on Monday, February 21, 2023 at Mercy Medical Center. Jonathan was born in Springfield on March 14, 1973, the son of Kathleen (Healy) Hathaway and the late Donald Hathaway. Jonathan was a graduate of Cathedral High School, Class of 1992. He also attended Western New England College. Jonathan loved sports. He grew up playing soccer for St Catherine of Siena Church and later Cathedral High School, but skiing is where he exceled the most. A lifelong New Englander he loved eating lobster on family vacations in Maine, and could do without the snow unless it was under his skis. He loved Notre Dame Football and DUKE basketball. Jonathan had a passion for food and made cooking his career as a Chef for more than 25yrs. Beyond his talents, he was so much more as a son, a brother, and friend. In the face of his own struggles he would look to help others in need. He was soft spoken but didn't need words for you to know you were never alone. Jonathan will never be forgotten, and will always be loved by those he touched. He is survived by his beloved mother Kathleen (Healy) Hathaway of East Longmeadow, his devoted brother Mathew Hathaway of Springfield, his Aunt Maryellen Healy, and cousin Tony Caruso and his wife Becky, and their daughter Alex, his Aunt & Uncle Tommy and Maureen Healy and cousins Ryan Healy and Patrick Healy and his wife Jennifer, his Aunt & Uncle Beverly & Charlie Gray and cousin Charles Gray and his wife Lauren, and their children Julia, Charlie, and Henry.
