Joyce Ann (Daley) Burris, 91, a lifelong resident of Springfield, died early Thursday morning, June 18, 2020 in the comfort of her home and her loving family by her side. She was born and educated in Springfield a daughter of the late Timothy A. and Goldie M. (Mosher) Daley and was a graduate of the former Trade High School. Joyce, during her life, was employed with several local businesses including the former Buxton Leather Company, Milton Bradley and Belmont Laundry. More importantly, her real career was bringing up her four children. One of Joyce's favorite pastime was displaying her talent of crocheting, these gifts of her affection over the many years were truly appreciated. With each new addition of the family and her closest friends, the proud parents received beautiful handcrafted baby blankets and baby sets. Her greatest pleasure was the opportunity and time spent with her extended family and friends over the many years. Her family feels very fortunate for her love of family, and her gift of sharing. Joyce was the beloved wife of the late Leroy J. Burris, Jr., and leaves four loving children, Dennis L. Burris, Karen J. Skarzynski and her husband Thomas, and Christine L. Cooley and her husband Robert all of Springfield, and Ronald L. Burris and his wife Urania of LaVerne, CA; her sister, Carolyn Ziemba of Springfield; 9 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 8 great great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by her brothers, Paul, Alan and Dean Daley. Relatives and friends may call on Wednesday, June 24th from 11:30 – 12:30 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen St., with a funeral home service beginning at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, 895 Parker St., all in Springfield.
