Joyce Louise (Dwight) House, 81, a longtime resident of East Longmeadow, passed away on Tuesday, November 12, 2019 at Wingate of Hampden, surrounded by her loving family. She was born and educated in Springfield, a daughter of the late Harold and Ruby (Davis) Dwight and graduated from Commerce High School. Joyce was employed as a bookkeeper for the former New England Orthopedics and retired as the Human Resource manager after more than thirty years. Some of her favorite pastimes included the beach, sewing and gardening. She is survived by her beloved husband of 59 years, Robert A. House of East Longmeadow, and leaves five loving children, Brett J. House and his wife Rebecca of Blue Hill, ME, Garrett R. House of Conyers, GA, Melissa L. House of Monson, Morgan M. House with wife Jessica of Newfields, NH, and Jennifer L. Grimley with her husband Michael of East Longmeadow; two brothers, Harold Dwight and his wife Yolanda of White Springs, FL, and Donald Dwight and his wife Mary Lou of Concord, NC; five cherished grandchildren, Gavin Grimley, John and Sabrina House, Allyson Goodrich and her husband Nathan, and August Reader, and two great-grandsons, Forrest and Wyatt Goodrich. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her sister, Shirley Hahn. Her family would like to thank all of the staff and nurses at Wingate of Hampden for the loving care Joyce received during her illness. Family and friends will gather and remember Joyce on Friday, November 15th from 4-7 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, in Springfield. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM at Baptist Village Cemetery, in East Longmeadow.
