She is predeceased by her parents Dorrit Hamond Finn and Edward Joseph Finn of Brooklyn, NY. Judie was a homemaker with a strong commitment to community involvement.  She supported her husband’s business, Acres Power Equipment on Shaker Road, East Longmeadow.  She was a founding director of the Friends of the Norcross Center in East Longmeadow and served as clerk/ secretary.  She and her husband were First Founders and she was a life member of the Norcross Heritage Society. Growing up in Hampden, MA and a graduate of Classical High School, she received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Mary Washington College of the University of Virginia in Fredericksburg, VA.  She met her future husband, Connie, on a blind double date and lived in Texas for a brief time while he served as an officer in the U.S Army at the Texarkana Army Depot.  Upon returning to this area, she taught elementary school in Enfield, CT and Hampden, MA. Judie was a lifelong lover of horses and the farming life. She raised her daughters to be strong horsewomen through 4-H and Pony Club and she served as a Regional Supervisor of the Central New England Pony Club.  She was an active 4-H volunteer at the local, county, and state levels. She was a proud member of the Massachusetts 4-H Foundation and served as Chairperson of the 4-H special Activities Fund and the 4-H Scholarship Fund receiving a State House honor for her dedication to 4-H in 2002. A life member of the Hampden County Improvement League, an organization that promotes agricultural activities and education, Judie served as its first woman president and continued as a long time Board of Directors member. Known for her booming, infectious laugh, sharp wit and adventurous spirit often with her best friend Mary Harris, Judie’s car of choice was a hot red convertible.  She hosted memorable gatherings and holiday celebrations and had many friends in the community.  In 2015, she suffered a major stroke and was cared for at home by wonderful caregivers.  She was able to enjoy one last Christmas - her favorite holiday.  Judie passed away peacefully at Baystate Medical Center on January 1, 2022.  She will be cremated. A celebration of life will be held overlooking her glorious gardens and beautiful grounds, surrounded by pets, family and friends sometime this summer. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Friends of the Norcross Center, P.O.
