June L. (Vantine) Dakers, of the Sixteen Acres area of Springfield, passed away on Monday, November 18, 2019. June’s greatest joy was being a mother and she treasured time spent with her loving family. She was born in Springfield on June 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Donald and Edith (Noyes) Vantine. She was a graduate of Springfield Technical High School, Class of 1946. June worked for Mass Mutual Insurance Company for many years. June was a member of Foster Memorial Church and Hope Congregational Church. She was a proud member of the Eastern Star organization. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her beloved husband of seventy years John Dakers, Jr., on October 21, 2017 and a daughter Judy Dakers, and two sisters Shirley O’ Malley and Ruth Vantine. She is survived by three devoted children Sandra Curry and her husband David of South Portland, ME, J. David Dakers of Bozrah, CT., and Gary Dakers and his wife Deborah Sbraccia – Dakers of Longmeadow and a loving sister Barbara Torrey of East Longmeadow and she leaves five cherished grandchildren Rebecca Aupperlee and her husband Phil, Heather Curry, Taylor Dakers, Makenze Dakers – Perez and her husband Christian and Ian Dakers. She also leaves five adored great-grandchildren Avery Hope, William John, Carly Noelle, Alysia Kylie and Christian Stephen. All Services and burial will be private.
