June M. Robbins (nee Tomassetti), 82, of Springfield passed away on Sunday, July 5th 2020. Born on June 26th, 1938 in Springfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Maryana (nee Klaus) Tomassetti and Aldo Tomassetti. June graduated from Cathedral High School class of 1955. June worked for 38 years as a telephone operator at both AT&T and New England Telephone Company. She was a communicant for many years at Holy Cross Church. June loved all animals, enjoyed gardening, reading, playing pitch and spending time with her family, neighbors, and best friend Lila. She treasured many memories of summers at Misquamicut Beach, RI. June is survived by her beloved husband, Bruce E. Robbins of Springfield; her son, Kyle Stephen Boardway and his wife Terri Ann and their children Adrianna, Sophia, and Gianina all of West Springfield; her daughter, Kelly Boardway and her husband Victor A. Lake of Springfield, Virginia; her stepson, Colonel Matthew Robbins and his wife Casey and their children, Kate, Reese, and Brynn all of Okinawa, Japan; and her brother, Ricci Tomassetti of Westfield. June was predeceased by her stepson, Douglas Robbins of Chesterfield. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday morning, July 20th at 9:30 AM at Holy Cross Church, 221 Plumtree Road, Springfield with Rites of Committal to follow at 11:00 AM at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, in Agawam. Because of the Covid-19 Pandemic, face coverings and social distancing will be required during all of her services. The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Baystate Medical Center Daly 6A and information/greeting desk for their kindness and compassion in caring for June and her family.
