Karen Lorraine (Tomei) Vadnais

Karen L. Vadnais, 79, of Springfield, MA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 30, 2022. Karen was born in Troy, NY, on March 15, 1943, a daughter of the late Lawrence and Elaine (Taffi) Tomei.

Karen was a proud graduate of Cathedral High School and worked for the Center for Human Development for over 20 years. She loved to laugh and tell people all about her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Karen was predeceased by her husband and forever love, Albert ‘Red’ Vadnais and her sister, Lauren Vanasse.

Karen is survived by her sons, Mark Vadnais, and Scott Vadnais and his wife Mary of Amherst, NY; her cherished grandchildren, Spencer Vadnais and Sophia Vadnais; her brothers, Robert Tomei and his wife Barbara of Springfield, MA, and Lawrence Tomei, Jr., and his wife Liana of Port Orange, FL; her brother-in-law, Ronald Vanasse; as well as several nieces, nephews, and numerous members of an extended family that will forever miss her beaming smile, her open heart, and joyful spirit.

Relatives and friends may call on Saturday, June 10th from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home & Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. A funeral home service will follow beginning at 12:30 PM with Rites of Committal to conclude at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 421 Tinkham Rd., Springfield.
