Karl E. Ahlberg

Karl E. Ahlberg, 72 of Wilbraham, passed away on September 15, 2023. Karl was born in Springfield on July 25, 1951, the son of the late Paul and Phyllis (Short) Ahlberg. He graduated from Springfield Technical High school. Karl worked as a bartender at the Limelight in Springfield until his retirement. He was married to Karen Ricardi and spent 25 years together raising their family. Karl grew up playing hockey and enjoyed that hobby well into adulthood. He was an avid NY Yankees, NY Giants and Boston Bruins fan. He enjoyed traveling to Lake George NY to his family’s cottage during the summers and enjoyed boating on the beautiful lake.  In addition to his parents Karl was also predeceased by two brothers Paul Ahlberg and Erik Ahlberg. He is survived by his two devoted children Jason Ahlberg of Ludlow and Kristie French and her husband Jason of Wilbraham, two brothers Kenneth Ahlberg and Peter Ahlberg and his four adored grandchildren Camrion Rice, Haley French, Devin Rice and Gavin French. Calling hours will be held on Friday. September 22, 2023 from 4-6p.m. at the Byron Keenan Funeral Home and Cremation Tribute Center, 1858 Allen Street, Springfield. Burial will be private.
